Paul Young has married his girlfriend Lorna in an intimate ceremony at Marylebone’s Registry office. The musician shared a kiss with his other half as the happy couple were greeted by loved ones following their heartwarming ceremony on Friday.

Paul, who announced his engagement to Lorna in October 2023, sadly lost his wife Stacey Smith six years ago after a battle with brain cancer. She received her diagnosis when she and Paul had been married for 30 years; the same year that the musician turned 60.

The Love of the Common People hitmaker looked smart in a blue suit and a burnt orange tie as the couple shared a sweet embrace outside the registry office surrounded by their loved ones.

The bride wowed in an elegant lace gown with a pretty beaded skirt as she and Neil shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

Paul announced their engagement news in October five years after his wife’s death. The eighties pop sensation shared the celebratory news on Instagram.

He captioned the post: “Lorna said Yes! We are both so happy and both looking forward to a wonderful future together.”

Lorna also took to her own Instagram to share another sweet snap of the couple, writing: “My world, my love, my everything, 5 years of joy, I could not love anyone more.”

The wife of pop star Paul died in early 2018 after suffering from a two-year battle with brain cancer.

Stacey died peacefully at home in Hertfordshire surrounded by her family on January 26, 2018.

The singer had met his late wife, who was a model, on the video shoot for his second single Come Back and Stay in 1983.

They married while they were living in Los Angeles in November 1987, but split in 2006. But three years later she then reconciled with Paul in 2009.

Speaking about her death on This Morning in 2018, Paul said: “We just made the best of it for those two years. And as a family, we agreed that we [he and his children] wanted to get working and do something positive.

“That’s what she was proudest of. She was really happy for me when things started to pick up again. [We are a close family] we see each other all the time.

“When she first got ill, we all said we’d cut out sugar, because it aggravates cancer, so we did that as a show of solidarity really with Stacey.”
