Pal of Mariah Carey’s sister makes claim about last weeks of life before death

Must read

Mariah Carey has expressed her deep sorrow following the tragic death of her mother and sister on the same day over the weekend. The 55-year-old star did not disclose specific details about their deaths, but it’s been reported that Mariah’s troubled sister Alison was in hospice care a few weeks prior to her passing.

The heartbroken artist shared the news with PEOPLE on Monday, stating: “My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day. I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”

Her fans were taken aback by the news, with many taking to social media to express their condolences. One fan wrote: “We are with you, Mariah,” while another urged her to “Stay strong.”

Further information about their tragic deaths is coming to light. Dave Baker, a close friend and carer, told The Sun: “Alison was on home hospice care for the last three weeks of her life.” He also claimed that Alison “had a problem with internal organs.”

Dave, a close friend of the departed, paid tribute by saying: “Beneath a tough exterior Alison was a highly intelligent, warm, and sensitive person. I have known her for nine years and as her friend and in recent months her carer I will miss her greatly. Farewell Alison. May you now find peace, your tortured soul forever free from earthly pain.”

Mariah Carey has previously been candid about her relationships with her mother Patricia and siblings Alison and Morgan. In her 2020 memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, she characterised her relationship with her mother as a “prickly rope of pride, pain, shame, gratitude, jealousy, admiration, and disappointment.”

Despite their differences and several tumultuous years, the pair managed to reconcile, with Patricia holding a special place in Mariah’s heart that even led to a special dedication in her memoir.

Unfortunately, Mariah was not able to reconcile with her sister Alison. In her book, she explained that it was “emotionally and physically safer for me not to have any contact” with her brother and sister due to allegations they would “sell lies” to magazines and had “attacked” her for decades.

Mariah Carey’s sister, Alison, has been embroiled in controversy after Mariah’s memoir painted a grim picture of their shared past. In the book, Mariah accused Alison of offering her cocaine as a child and claimed that Alison “would barter her body for money or drugs”.

Alison refuted these claims, insisting that the pop diva failed to provide any concrete evidence to back them up. The saga grabbed headlines in 2021 when Alison attempted to sue Mariah over the memoir’s allegations, which she branded as “vindictive” and responsible for causing her “immense emotional distress”. However, the lawsuit never reached the courtroom.

Alison’s own history is marked by legal troubles, including a 2016 arrest for prostitution in New York. Her tumultuous life story includes a struggle with drug addiction throughout her 20s, an effort to reclaim her life following a harrowing childhood.

She suffered horrific experiences, including being nearly “burnt alive” by a family member during a house fire and enduring repeated sexual abuse in “Satanic Ceremonies”, leading to a diagnosis of PTSD.
