Ordinary two-bed home on sale £220k blasted by critics as ‘rank’ and ‘insane’ – but can YOU spot why?

Must read

A two-bedroom detached house has gone up for sale but critics have slammed it as ‘rank’ with some saying it’s the ‘whitest’ property they have ever seen.

The property, which ironically is in Whitehaven, Cumbria, used to be three-bedroom but the current owner converted it into a two many years ago.

Built in the Highlands estate, the listing claims the area has been a firm favourite of buyers for many years due to the close proximity to the town centre.

From the outside the property looks normal with nothing abnormal to point out.

However it is only when you look at the interior pictures which you begin to find the reason why so many people have taken aim at it.

It includes a central hall with a small toilet on the left, and leads on to the living room, where bar the sofa and fireplace everything in the house is white.

This includes the blinds, the cabinet where the television is placed, and even the flooring.

From the sitting area to the kitchen, the chosen theme continues to be obvious.

The kitchen however is the first section of the house where the all-white theme is broken and you find the counter-top is actually a black marble

Although there is a navy and white rug which leads, presumably, to the door leading to the rear garden.

Moving upstairs, it becomes evident that the owner had a very strong vision for the colour scheme of the house. Anything that could be white was made white, including the beds, bedding, chest of drawers, and even the floors

The first floor has two bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite, and a bathroom.

Furthermore, there is a good sized garden to the rear, and front, and a driveaway which leads to the garage.

The minimalist approach has taken the internet by storm with some liking the simple approach while others called it ‘rank’ and ‘insane’.

Other users came up with scenarios where this choice of decoration would not go well with.

Meanwhile, others resorted to making observations about the town, with one saying: ‘There is no way on God’s green earth anyone is paying 235 grand to live in Whitehaven.’

However, not everyone disliked the house with some saying ‘I love it, it’s minimalist and it looks soooo clean.’

Another said: ‘It will be so easy to decorate though, white is easy t paint over as a base.’
