The sister of the OpenAI boss Sam Altman has filed a lawsuit in the United States alleging that he regularly sexually abused her during their childhood.
In papers filed on January 6 in a district court in Missouri, Ann Altman, 30, alleges the abuse, which includes an allegation of rape, occurred between 1997 and 2006 — starting when she was three and Altman was 12.
In response to the lawsuit, Altman, 39, posted a joint statement on X with his mother and two brothers, denying the allegations.
“All of these claims are utterly untrue,” the family said in the statement. “Our family loves Annie and is very concerned about her wellbeing. Caring for a family member who faces mental health challenges is incredibly difficult.”
