Local businesses are invited to come along to Redwither Tower on Wednesday, July 17 for an “excellent opportunity to get involved in an open discussion and information sharing event around active and sustainable travel”.

The event takes place 10am-12pm in the Atrium (on the building’s third floor), and offers opportunities to gain insights from a variety of guest speakers including our very own Transport Strategy team.

The council say their team will present active travel infrastructure ideas for Wrexham Industrial Estate, and using an interactive map they’ll ask attendees to suggest improvements and highlight any difficulties or missing links across the industrial estate.

Other guest speakers include Transport for Wales (TfW), Life on Wheels, Costelloes EV charge points, Sustrans, Living Streets, Cycling UK, and Pedal Power.

They say you will also get the chance to network with other businesses, sharing your ideas on active and sustainable travel, and discussing solutions.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Housing and Climate Champion, said: “This is a great opportunity for businesses to come together to have their say on potential barriers that might be preventing them and their workforces from using more active and sustainable travel. We want to support everyone to reduce their carbon emissions, which will help against the climate emergency.”

Cllr Nigel Williams, Lead Member for Economy with responsibility for Business Support, said: “It’s going to be a really positive event that gives businesses the opportunity to make suggestions, highlight any issues, and to share their ideas. We encourage local businesses to attend on July 17 if they can.”

The council added, “Before coming along, we’d like to challenge you to visit Traveline Cymru and plan your usual journey from home to work using a more active and/or sustainable or just different mode of transport so you can share your findings with us all at the event.

“Don’t miss this chance to contribute to the future of active and sustainable travel to and around the industrial estate and we look forward to seeing you there!”
