OnePlus 13 design showcased in official images with China launch set for October 31

Must read

The OnePlus 13 has broken cover with a series of official images showcasing the design of the upcoming flagship – while a date has been set for the device’s launch in China.

Over the weekend, a post from the official OnePlus account on Weibo showcased (h/t Mukul Sharma) the design of the OnePlus 13 and October 31 launch event. As we saw in a leak from just a few days ago, the BBK-owned firm’s next device looks to have minor changes and tweaks over its predecessor, including flatter sides and an even more prominent camera bulge – complete with Hasselblad branding.

It’s unclear if the flatter edges mean that we’ll finally see a flat screen on a flagship OnePlus phone for the first time since the 8T, but we’re hopeful that the curved display will be done with the next release. The lineup appears in black, blue, and white colorways, with a metallic strip splitting up the circular camera bar and the embossed “H” logo prominent to the right.

What we can glean from the images and brief video is that this device still sports an alert slider. However, the OnePlus 13 looks like it could come with glossy side rails, similar to the recent Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL. That could be a problem for durability long term, but it does track with previous generations, which also have glossy metal rails.

Beyond the design, other new features rumored for the OnePlus 13 include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a giant 6,000 mAh battery, and some form of MagSafe-like charging. We know that OxygenOS 15 is set to launch October 24 and will include lots of tweaks to enhance the experience. The OnePlus 12 is one of the best-value smartphones of the year, so we have especially high hopes for the follow-up.

With just over a week until launch, we’re sure we’ll learn more prior to October 31.
