Zayn Malik has opted for a private life in recent years, but it seems the former One Direction star is sharing more of his life with fans each day, and his most recent Instagram post has left them shocked.
The 31-year-old singer, who shot to fame as part of the British boy band in 2010, was once known for his voluminous quiff hairstyle, but since becoming a solo artist, he has tended to sport shorter looks.
From a buzzcut to a short platinum style and even cornrows at one point, the musician has been no stranger to experimenting with his hair, and his new look further proves it.
Taking to Instagram this week, the Pillowtalk singer shared a video of himself singing an acapella version of his recent song Shoot at Will from his album Room Under the Stairs.
While his vocals were what one fan, zsupportzayn, dubbed ‘raw and beautiful’, something else caught their attention.
Sitting in a room with a Muhammad Ali poster behind him, Zayn’s new look included long, dishevelled hair and a full beard.
Taking to the comment section, impressed fans begged the star to share his haircare routine as it was only a couple of months ago he had both short hair and a trimmed beard when he performed his first ever show in over nine years at Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
‘Give me the haircare routine cause how tf your hair grows that fast’, yashikaabhatnagar said.
Lehallelah agreed, adding: ‘Seriously!!! We need its skin care routine too because how is he ALWAYS glowing’.
While seansaddy281 replied to the user’s original comment: ‘It’s been more than 3 months since the release of room under the stairs. Enough time to grow this big. Btw he looks sick ngl.’
Zsupportzayn commented: ‘Damn the beard 😭😭😭’
The musician’s latest look isn’t exactly a new one as he sported a very similar style in 2022, three years after he shaved his head.
It comes after the popstar was revealed to be a nominee for the upcoming Ethnicity Awards, alongside TV presenter Alesha Dixon.
The annual extravaganza, hosted in collaboration with HSBC UK, was created to honour the most influential Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities in the UK with a prestigious ceremony.
In the Music Artist category, Zayn has been shortlisted and will compete against Raye, Tinie Tempah and legendary soul divas Gabrielle and Emeli Sande, for the title.
Winners of the awards are decided by the public, who can vote online here. Meanwhile, the winners in the business categories will be chosen by a panel of esteemed judges.
The ceremony takes place on October 31 in London.
