One £69 high-street summer dress, three very different women: How this quirky M&S frock won over YOU’s fashion team

Must read

Looking for something special to add to your summer wardrobe? Call off the search – the YOU fashion team has found a holiday in dress form.

This linen column style with shell embellishment is strappy for sunny days and easily layered for special events, while the cut and detail make it look far more expensive than its price tag. Oh, and it flatters every size, as showcased here. It’s already sold out in petite sizes, so make sure you add to basket now to avoid winding up on the waiting list.

The good news? A black version is about to land.

 ‘Eventwear that won’t bankrupt me’

Where I’ll wear it Everywhere – it’s so versatile. Many of my friends are turning 30 this year, so I have a lot of parties in the diary that this is perfect for.

Why the label works for me Aside from this dress, M&S is my go-to for co-ords, which, whether tailored or more relaxed and beachy, deliver maximum impact with minimum effort.

That’s my hen-do look sorted

Where I’ll wear it I am getting married this summer (you will be sick of hearing that soon!) and this is ideal for my hen do. It hangs beautifully and is sexy but in an elegant way. The shell detail adds a dressy touch, but the linen makes it feel like it isn’t trying too hard.

Why the label works for me M&S has managed to marry classic forever pieces with modern cuts and details that elevate the clothes above the average high-street offering.

Where I’ll wear it Crete. This is the dream holiday dress – I love all linen, and this is linen with an elevated edge.

 It’s the dream holiday frock

Why the label works for me It has really nailed summer tailoring this year. Again, a lot of linen, but if it works, it works.
