Oasis fans have been going wild over new reports that Liam and Noel Gallagher will reunite to perform together for the Glastonbury headline slot as well as 10 gigs at Wembley in 2025 – breaking Taylor Swift’s recent record at the venue.
Glastonbury bosses are hoping to lure the bickering brothers to reform their rock band Oasis in time to headline the event next summer.
The Mail on Sunday has learned that the Gallagher brothers have been told that chiefs would love them to headline slot at the 2025 music extravaganza after criticism about the main acts at this year’s festival. Coldplay headlined for the fifth time.
Planners for next year’s event at Worthy Farm, Somerset, are determined to get new and big names for the headline slots. Music industry sources have told the Mail on Sunday that an Oasis reunion now looks ‘more do-able than it has been for years.’
And fans couldn’t be happier as they penned on X their excitement over the weekend – with many of their middle-aged fans joking they will need to organise childcare sharpish so they can go to Glastonbury to see them.

The Cruel Summer songstress, 34, played eight shows at the north London venue to delighted crowds in June and August – making her the first solo artist to play the stadium that many times.
She told the screaming audience: ‘You have made me the first solo artist to play Wembley eight times on a single tour!’
Fans said of the possible reunion on social media: ‘Felt it’s always been on the cards since Noel’s divorce. I haven’t been Glastonbury for two years (thanks Rowan) so go make a return when Oasis play it could be up there with Macca for me.
Others said: ‘Oasis reunion will be up there with the birth of my child.’,
‘I am very sceptical about the Oasis reunion rumours but something seems different this time. To see them live together in my lifetime would be amazing. Please…’,
‘wdym oasis reunion’,
‘Oasis Reunion announcement? @liamgallagher Come on’,
‘Oasis reunion is a done deal I’m hearing yus’,
‘oasis reunion making a particular kind of white dude (me) make incredibly irresponsible financial decisions.’,
‘woooooooooow oasis reunion.’,
‘OASIS REUNION FOR REAL?’
To add fuel to the rumours, Liam recently responded to some tweets on X regarding reunion. One user wrote: ‘Heaton Park terrible venue for concerts,’ to which the frontman responded: ‘See you down the front you big f***y.’
Another fan commented: ‘this will last about five seconds,’ with Liam adding: ‘You got a crystal ball c***y b*****ks.’

A source said on Sunday: ‘All the speculation about this reunion can get a bit tiresome. But there’s a genuine feeling that next summer’s Glastonbury will be too much of an attraction for Liam and Noel to turn down.
‘They have been made aware of the headline slot that’s open for them next summer. Now it’s all down to them.’
They still don’t speak but there has been repeated speculation about reunions in the years that followed, and Oasis fans were sent into a frenzy after the band’s official Instagram page posted a cryptic video last May featuring an aerial shot of a large estate on the bank of a river with muted music playing in the background.
One of the previous stumbling blocks had been a bitter rift between Liam and Sara Macdonald, Noel’s former wife.
Sara and Noel divorced last year, which also helped ease tensions between the two brothers.
Meanwhile, Liam has been enjoying huge live success with his own band, but the highlight has been a series of sell-out gigs in which he has performed songs from debut album Definitely Maybe, released in 1994.
His brother has continued with his own band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who have their own sizeable fan base.
Glastonbury bosses may have a job to persuade Noel though. He regularly attends as a fan and was there this year. But he says it has changed in recent years.
He said: ‘It’s getting a bit woke now, that place, and a bit kind of preachy and a bit virtue-signalling.
‘I don’t like it in music – little f***ing idiots waving flags around and making political statements and bands taking the stage and saying, ‘Hey guys, isn’t war terrible, yeah? Let’s all boo war. F*** the Tories man’, and all that. It’s like, look – play your f***ing tunes and get off.’
Glastonbury bookers are also keen to secure US rap legend Eminem for a headline slot.
