NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPUs To Feature DLSS 4 Support, ASUS’s Custom RTX 5080 Variant Listed For €1699

Must read

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 GPUs will be featuring DLSS 4 support and another custom ASUS RTX 5080 variant has been listed.

NVIDIA is Reportedly Launching RTX 50 GPUs Alongside “DLSS 4” as Spotted on the European Retailer, ASUS RTX 5080 Listed At A Hefty Price

Just three days are left before the official NVIDIA RTX 50 series launch, and we have an early price listing. This is the GeForce RTX 5080 AIB edition, which was seen at a European retailer, listed at €1,699, including the 20% VAT (via @GawroskiT). From the screenshot, it is confirmed that it is an ASUS edition, which usually goes higher than reference/FE cards, and therefore, the retail pricing for the FE card should be lower.

If we convert the price to USD, we get $1748 including the 20% VAT, which is applied in European regions. Excluding VAT, the price comes down to $1456, and deducting another 100 to 200 Euros ASUS Tax, we get the price equivalent to US$1349. This is the rough estimate one should get for the NA market.

As far as the Founders Edition is concerned, it’s safe to assume that it will be priced somewhere between $1200-$1300. In previous leaks, it was rumored that the GPU could be priced higher than $1500, but that shouldn’t be the case considering this new leak. It should also be kept in mind that some of the leaks were related to the non-NA markets, which usually have to sell GPUs with significant added taxes.

As per the leaker, an MSRP of $1200 would be the best-case scenario for the GeForce RTX 5080, which puts it just at the level of the RTX 4080 launch price. The GeForce RTX 4080 was one of the most poorly priced cards in the Ada lineup and NVIDIA had to launch the Super Edition for $200 cheaper to make some good sales. As far as the RTX 5080 is concerned, we don’t know if this price makes it attractive, but if the performance lifts are significant over its predecessor, it could come out to be in favor of NVIDIA.

Apart from the GPU price, the leak also shows that NVIDIA is going to release DLSS 4.0, succeeding the DLSS 3.5 for better upscaling and performance. The prominent leaker @Kopite7Kimi has also confirmed that DLSS 4.0 is coming. We haven’t heard about DLSS 4.0 in detail before, but since AMD is also reportedly launching FSR 4 alongside RDNA 4 GPUs, likely, NVIDIA wouldn’t upgrade its existing DLSS technology.

The RTX 5080 is expected to bring 10752 Cuda Cores, 16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and 360W of TDP, according to the reports. The RTX 5080 is the only card in the lineup that supposedly features the fastest GDDR7 memory, clocked at 30 Gbps, while others will feature 28 Gbps memory speed. NVIDIA is reportedly launching the RTX 5080 on 6th January, even before the RTX 5090, and is expected to launch in retail stores on the 21st of this month.
