Apple has unveiled a new version of Podcasts on the web platform that works in Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox browsers on Mac, PC and other devices. Users can now search, browse and listen to podcasts through the website, accessing the Up Next queue and library when logged into their Apple Account.
Here’s What We Know
The web version of Podcasts is available at podcasts.apple.com and functions similarly to the Apple Podcasts app, allowing users to subscribe to their favourite shows and receive updates. Apple has previously provided the ability to listen to podcasts on web pages embedded in articles, but now there is a separate site for devices without the Podcasts app.
It’s important to note that if the Podcasts app is installed on an iPhone, iPad or Mac, the website will open the corresponding app automatically. The web version of Podcasts comes a month after Apple launched Apple Maps on the web platform, providing an alternative to Google Maps.
