Three days after a fatal shooting at the Onelife Fitness in Carlyle, the gym is reopening today.
On Saturday, 30-year-old Charles Hewitt shot and killed 29-year-old Joshua Wilcox inside the gym before shooting himself. Both Hewitt and Wilcox were transported to a hospital, but both died of their injuries.
The gym had been closed since the incident, but reopened this morning (Tuesday).
“We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during our closure,” the Onelife manager said in a note to community members. “The outpouring of support shown by the Alexandria community has been truly moving. Your support and loyalty mean the world to us.”
