North Wales coach operator merges with rivals to form major UK travel group

A North Wales coach firm is merging with rivals to form a new travel giant. Alpine Travel, including Jones Holidays, has become part of the The Coach Travel Group in deal with six other operators.

They said it will “change the shape of the UK coach travel industry”. The Llandudno based firm has merged with Barnes Coaches, Coatham Coaches, JH Coaches, Johnsons Coaches, Swans Travel and The Ready Group to create the new giant of the sector.




Alpine Travel said it “ushers in a new dawn of travel for passengers in the North Wales region”. Private equity firm H2 Equity Partners has backed the newly formed group and the combined entity will employ approximately 700 people.
