Noel & Liam Gallagher ‘HAVEN’T buried hatchet’ but staggering sum reunited Oasis

Must read

OASIS brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are reportedly still not over their long-held feud – but their potential £500million payday was too much to ignore.

The Sun revealed on Sunday that the famed 90s group would be reunited with its full line-up, with warring brothers Liam and Noel back as the frontmen.

The pair haven’t shared a stage together since a dramatic fallout in 2009 resulted in a backstage fight in Paris and the break-up of the band.

Coming together for a series of tour dates next summer, the band later teased the return with a brief date countdown after a Blossoms gig, with their logo flashing up on screen.

Liam also dedicated a song to his brother Noel while performing at Reading Festival across the weekend.

But as fans wait desperately to hear more – with the date revealing news at 8am tomorrow (Tuesday 27) – it seems that it’s not all rock n roll behind the scenes.

According to DailyMail, Noel had been holding out on the reunion, with sources saying: “Noel would only ever consider sharing the stage with Liam again if the money was astronomical and that’s what convinced him.

“They haven’t buried the hatchet and Noel will always have huge reservations about being in a band with Liam as he’s so unpredictable – both on and off stage.”

The source noted that “certain conditions” would have to be adhered to in order to ensure Noel remains with the comeback, citing he will “struggle with Liam’s form for being a liability.”

“But the sums of money being offered will obviously help through any potential ordeals,” they added. “It’s life changing cash – even for somebody already very rich.”

The pair have reportedly been working towards a reconciliation behind the scenes for months.

The Oasis reunion is expected to be the most in-demand tour in British concert history.

A music insider told The Sun: “This is the reunion that no one thought would ever happen.

“Liam and Noel have been staunch enemies for well over a decade but they have secretly been back in touch.

“A deal was put on the table and they both said yes – much to the surprise of the people around them.

“There will be concerts in the UK next summer and both Noel and Liam are excited to get back out there together.”

The announcement of their new gigs will come 15 years to the day since Noel dramatically quit the band

Both Liam and Noel have been trading public jabs at each other ever since.

In 2021, during Sky documentary, Noel Gallagher: Out Of The Now, the singer admitted he didn’t take the decision to leave Oasis lightly.

“It was my life, I directed it and creatively it was my thing. With the benefit of hindsight it was the best thing for me and for the band,” he said.

“Oasis back in 2009 were not lauded as one of the greats of all time. There was a kind of undercurrent of, ‘well they should really call it a day’. That’s what I felt anyway.”

“I felt that people had stopped listening to the records and were coming to see us trot out the hits and it’s a position I never wanted the band to be in,” he added.

“But now of course we’re seen as up there with all the greats.”
