No Man’s Sky has seen a massive jump in player count after the arrival of the game’s World’s Part 1 update, and early feedback suggests the open-world title is playing well on Valve’s handheld console.
The epic open-world space survival game has been front and center of gaming news recently, with a new World’s Part 1 update bringing an entire host of exciting changes to the table. Despite feedback around the new update being generally positive, some PC users are experiencing huge drops in framerates. However, that doesn’t seem to be affecting the Steam Deck community, with player numbers on the rise.
In fact, the Steam Deck verified title is now in the top 20 Steam Deck played games this week, jumping an impressive 49 places – making it the biggest mover in the Steam Deck top 100 chart.
Regardless of the game’s popularity, we were most interested to find out how the game played on the Steam Deck after the World’s Part 1 update – and according to Redditors, it’s pretty good.
One Redditor was surprisingly impressed with the game’s performance, saying; “It’s actually surprisingly good – the game looks better after the update, but performance is also slightly better in some scenes and mostly equal on all others.”. This is great news for Steam Deck users and further promotes the qualities that this handheld console brings to the table.
No Man’s Sky receives positive performance feedback after update
The game is receiving a tonne of positive feedback from the Steam Deck community, with numerous threads discussing how awesome the changes have been – a night-and-day scenario when compared to the PC feedback seen after the game’s update.
One reason for the recent surge in popularity, outside of the new update, is the latest Steam offer that slashes 60% off the price point. Right now, you can pick up the game for $23,99, $36 cheaper than its usual price. Act quickly though, as the special promotion will finish on the 29th of July, 2024.
It’ll be interesting to see how the next few weeks go for the game, and whether the Space sandbox can jump itself into the top 10. It’ll be no surprise to me if it does, but I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.
