A first look at Nicole Kidman’s NSFW affair with a much younger intern played by Harris Dickinson has been glimpsed in erotic thriller Babygirl’s trailer.

The Hollywood star, 57, admitted to being so ‘frightened’ when the film was first screened to critics at Venice Film Festival in August that her hands were shaking – and we can begin to see why.

Fans have already admitted to ‘screaming’ over the trailer for the film, written and directed by Halina Reijn, which has almost universally been branded ‘horny’.

For the Oscar winner as tech SEO Romy is seen giving into dark desires and engaging in a dom/sub relationship with a new starter at her company, Samuel (Dickinson, 28).

Babygirl’s trailer begins with Kidman’s Romy having a breathless reaction to Samuel’s handling of an aggressive dog in the street with the soothing praise of ‘good girl’ – something which her racing brain is clearly interpreting… a certain kind of way.

For while Romy is juggling the pressures of work, home life (with two daughters and loving husband Antonio Banderas) and also ageing (she’s seen getting Botox), the restless undertones suggest she’s ready to break free.

And this is very much the case when Samuel offers Romy a cookie – which he used to calm down the dog – before telling her that he thinks she ‘likes being told what to do’ during a mentoring meeting.

While Romy admonishes him for his ‘unacceptable’ behaviour, it isn’t long before they’re sharing a steamy kiss in a meeting room and Samuel is ordering his boss a glass of milk in a bar, which she downs (sexier than it sounds).

He’s then commanding her to get on all fours before warning her of the power he holds over her as her employee because ‘I could make one call and you lose everything – does it turn you on when I say that?’.

We then cut to shots of Samuel’s thumb in her mouth and passionate make-outs in a hotel suite as a tearful Romy admits: ‘I’ve never experienced anything like this.’

Babygirl’s trailer then ends on a cheekily charged note as Samuel echoes his earlier praise and whispers to a surprised Romy ‘good girl’ as he exits a bar.

Fans were certainly hot under the collar and buzzing with anticipation for the movie following the trailer’s release.

‘I’m already in the movie theater in case you were wondering,’ commented @StateofKait under the trailer on YouTube, while another fan quipped: ‘A24 out here making their better version of 50 Shades of Grey.’

’50 Shades Of Nicole Kidman… I’m in,’ echoed @MePatriick, while @perenniallachrymosity simply exclaimed: ‘HORNY FILMS ARE BACK BABY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.’

‘Oh this is so horny,’ posted a gleeful @JoeOrgana on X, while @booksnbusy shared: ‘Ohhhhh this is about to be a timeee! Soft Dom Harris.’

‘Oof….. very horny & very seated,’ added @moxxie__.

Babygirl’s early premiere at Venice – where Kidman won the Volpi Cup for best actress, something fans are already echoing with their cries of an Oscar – means we already have an idea what more is in store.

That includes masturbation, orgasms, roleplay, nudity and even a surprising inclusion of what is seen as an explicit depiction of female pleasure in sex.

Metro.co.uk’s 3.5-star review of Babygirl praised Kidman as ‘one of the bravest actresses working in Hollywood today’ for the vulnerability she shows in the film and its examination of  the normally ‘very private sphere’ of female sexual desire.

It continues: ‘Babygirl is also not the film you expect. Despite the headline-grabbing way it deals with sex, it also intrigues with its focus on the messiness. Not just of embarking on an affair, but of this type of S&M relationship where both parties try to figure out what they want and how to communicate it. It also makes clear the difference in how separate generations view sex and coupledom.’

Babygirl premiered on August 30 at Venice Film Festival ahead of releasing in UK cinemas on January 10, 2025.
