As reported by the Daily Mail, Chelsea have indicated to Newcastle that they want to sign striker Isak amid the clubs’ conversations.

However, it is said they would have to pay north of their club record £1115million fee, which was spent to sign midfielder Moises Caicedo last summer, to land Isak.

Chelsea’s rivals Arsenal have previously been reported to also hold interest in Isak amid his impressive efforts at Newcastle.

The Sweden international netted 25 goals across all competitions last season, with a total of 35 coming over his two years at the club.

talkSPORT reported in April that Newcastle are aiming to renegotiate Isak’s contract to fend off interest in their star striker.

Chelsea are already set to complete an attacking signing this summer as they offered a contract to Barcelona striker Marc Guiu.

The 18-year-old has a release clause of €6million [£5.07million] and the Blues see him as having huge sell-on potential.

Guiu, and now Isak, have followed a number of attacking options to be linked with a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion have all been speculated targets.

Chelsea have so far announced two new signings in this window, with the first being Tosin Adarabioyo’s free transfer after leaving Fulham.

The Blues confirmed on Saturday that they have agreed a deal for Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian, who will join next summer.

As well as this, Chelsea are closing in on a £19m deal with Aston Villa to sign 18-year-old midfielder Omari Kellyman.

However, they’re set to lose Dutch full-back Ian Maatsen, who is heading the other way to Villa Park in a deal in excess of £35m.
