We’re now hearing from city’s emergency preparedness department that people in New Orleans are being told to avoid the area where the incident occurred.

Nola Ready – the City of New Orleans department responsible for emergency preparedness – warns residents to avoid the area of Canal and Bourbon streets.

“There has been a mass casualty incident on Canal and Bourbon Street. Get yourself away from the area,” Nola Ready says in a post on X.
