New GTA 6 Trailer Version Reveals More Details In Higher Quality – RockstarINTEL

Must read

Despite Rockstar Games not releasing a second GTA 6 trailer in 2024, the year does end with a new and improved look at the record-breaking first trailer. This discovery is the best in a very long time. It will certainly help keep fans occupied for a little while before a second trailer as they scour the video for anything we could not see previously.

Despite the GTA VI trailer looking stunning at 4K resolution on YouTube, the site heavily compresses videos to make the platform viable. This leads to small details and darker areas of videos to lose a lot of clarity. The original file Rockstar made before uploading would look significantly better than what we’ve seen for example. Whilst YouTube does offer a higher bitrate 1080p option for some videos to YouTube Premium members, it is not on the GTA VI trailer.

However, there is an improved bitrate version at 4K on Rockstar’s official Chinese upload to video site Bilibili. If you purchase Bilibili Premium you get access to it. That is exactly what Twitter user @takeshi_no_uta did. The YouTube 4K version bitrate tops out at 10,000kbps whereas the Bilibili Premium one reaches 17,000kbps which closes in on double the quality.

Fascinating Finds

The Twitter user also shared some comparisons between the 4K version on YouTube and Bilibili plus a download link to the Bilibili version. This download is also going to be more compressed than the version on the Chinese video site. That said, it still looks better than the YouTube version. Below are a few side-by-side comparison screenshots of the trailer. Left images are from YouTube and right images are the higher bitrate Bilibili Premium version. Click on each image to view them at full resolution.

If you’d like to take a good look for yourself, you can download the Bilibili Premium version here thanks to @takeshi_no_uta. To truly compare the two versions, it is recommended you use NVIDIA’s handy ICAT tool which you can download here.

Due to Rockstar’s silence, this is all we’ve had in a over a year now. Aside from Take-Two confirming at Fall 2025 release window. Even then, that information did not come from Rockstar but rather their parent company. Given GTA VI is still scheduled to release in Fall 2025, we should start to hear something in the coming weeks and months…

In other news, an actor seemingly teased he’s worked on GTA VI. He previously did voice over and mocap work for Rockstar in GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Plus, a reputable insider heard GTA VI is a great game like we’d expect it to be.
