Naomi: In Fashion review — packs more glamour than a fashion week party

Naomi Campbell famously runs at least three hours late — and the build of her V&A retrospective hasn’t strictly kept to schedule, either. At the preview of Naomi: In Fashion a few days before it opens to the public, the exhibition is still, I am told, “very much in progress”.

Scaffolding is up; display cabinets aren’t yet labelled. Campbell herself is even here making final tweaks to the bronze mannequins which have been designed to “glow” in her image. It’s a hands-on approach you might not expect of the woman who once threw her mobile phone at a maid, but there is no one better to position the one hundred-plus outfits mounted here to their best advantage.
