Naomi Campbell was thrilled to re-discover looks from across her modelling career for her upcoming fashion exhibition at London’s V&A Museum.
The 54-year-old supermodel worked closely with the Victoria & Albert Museum’s senior curator Sonnet Stanfill to put together her solo exhibition, Naomi: In Fashion, which features more than 100 outfits and accessories from her 40-year career.
In an interview with BBC News, Naomi admitted it felt “really intimate” putting some of her never-before-seen outfits on public display.
“I’ve been working alongside a great team and it’s been amazing re-discovering a lot of these items. Some of them have never been seen,” she shared. “It’s really intimate putting them out there for everyone to see; my Pandora’s box if you like.”
The exhibition also features a selection of fashion photographs curated by former British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful as well as a video wall of Naomi footage made by film director Steve McQueen.
One of the key pieces is the blue Vivienne Westwood platforms Naomi wore when she famously fell on the catwalk in Paris in 1993.
The fashion star told the outlet that the exhibition, which opens on Saturday, is dedicated to those “who have been the driving force behind my determination, dedication, and drive mantra”.
“My mother, whose love, sacrifices, and unshakable belief in me have always given me courage; my children, who encourage me to lead with my heart and be my best self every day; and my incredibly talented fashion family, whose endless creativity, passion, and unwavering support have shaped my path,” the mother of two continued. “You are the force behind my force, and this is my tribute to you.”
Naomi: In Fashion runs until April 2025.
