Changes in the skin are an inevitable side effect of ageing, but several tools have proven highly effective for offsetting their appearance.
A saggy neck, also referred to as a turkey neck, occurs when muscles in the region weaken and skin loses its ability to stay tight.
This loss of firmness can reflect a lifetime of poor lifestyle choices, but it’s never too late to take action, according to one skincare enthusiast.
In a recent clip, 57-year-old beauty influencer Bree claimed that derma rollers have helped keep the area beneath her jaw tight as she approaches her 60s.

She discussed her beauty regimen during an appearance on the YouTube channel of skincare enthusiast Gin Amber.
Having shunned plastic surgery or Botox her whole life, Bree advocates a holistic approach to natural beauty.
More specifically, the skincare enthusiast credits massages and derma rollers for giving her “beautiful, amazing, and tight”, and glowy skin in her late fifties.
“My mum who is not with us anymore was very much into skincare and researching everything about skin,” said Bree.
“She was adamant about the nighttime routine about cleaning your skin and about facial massages.”
She continued: “A […] number one is the derma roller, it’s been amazing to reduce the fine lines.
“I used to have these little bumps that even the facialist [couldn’t remove], and they were gone within two treatments.
“It’s really about nourishing yourself,” Bree added. “Nourishing your mind, nourishing your body, nourishing your emotions.”
A derma roller is a tool that may help rejuvenate the skin by smoothing out skin texture and reducing skin pigmentation.
It works by causing low levels of trauma to the outer layer of the epidermis, which prompts a healing process that eventually leads to skin regeneration.

Another side effect of this process is the production of anti-ageing substances like collagen and elastin in the skin.
Several studies have suggested that facial massages may temporarily tighten and plump the skin by improving blood flow.
For lasting firmness around the neck, experts at Healthline stress the importance of addressing other lifestyle factors like stress.
“Stress can cause you to tense the muscles in your neck, shoulders and back,” the health body states. “Reducing stress can help treat and prevent neck pain and stiffness.”
