A New Years Eve children’s event at Boxpark Liverpool has been cancelled after organisers said ticket sales were too low to make the event viable. Our Kids Social had organised a special event at the dining and leisure space in the Baltic Triangle on December 31.

Planned activities included a family silent disco, LEGO sessions, arts and crafts and glitter face painting, as well as a mystery trail and street food on offer. In an email sent to parents, Our Kids Social said: “It is with much regret we have had to cancel our NYE event at Boxpark, Liverpool due to low ticket sales. We have held on for as long as we can but we just haven’t had the ticket sales we need to make the event financially viable.

“We apologise for any disruption this has caused you and we hope to be back hosting our events for free with Boxpark in 2025. Ticket light will process a full refund of your tickets.”

Disappointed mum Emilia Bona told the ECHO: “I was absolutely gutted when I saw the email come through to say the event had been cancelled. I’d booked to go with my husband and my one year old, as well as some friends with their babies of similar ages.

“We booked the tickets weeks ago and we’ve been really looking forward to it. You don’t really see many NYE events that are designed with families and young kids in mind, so we’d been really excited about this. I know the baby won’t have any idea that we had it booked and aren’t going, but I still feel disappointed he won’t get to have a fun afternoon with us.”

Boxpark’s main New Years Eve event is going ahead as planned on December 31. The ‘Big Fat Bottomless Dinner Party’ begins at 5pm and will continue until the early hours of January 1.
