Mother of Georgia school shooter rang school to warn of attack

Must read

The mother of a teenager who shot dead four people phoned his school in an attempt to stop the tragedy after receiving what she interpreted as a warning message from him.

Marcee Gray, Colt Gray’s mother, was visiting her 81-year-old father Charles Polhamus when she received a text from her son saying: “I’m sorry, mom”, Mr Polhamus told the New York Post.

Ms Gray, 43, then called Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, and warned a member of staff of an “extreme emergency” telling the school to check on her son, a relative told The Washington Post.

However, as Ms Gray was on the three-hour drive to the school, she found out that two students and two teachers had been killed.
