Moodie Davitt Travel Retail Euro Competition latest: Skyline Concessions CEO Manuel Soto IV sole leader

Must read

Veteran travel retail executive Manuel Soto IV, CEO of Skyline Concessions, leads the way in The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition following Monday’s matches, write our football correspondents* Parker Thebus and Paul Damstring in Düsseldorf.

The San Francisco-based executive is one point in front of I Wirantara with Julie Fenwick from Luggage-Point in the UK and George Bliss from Campari Group both a further point back.

Here is our current top-12 ranking. We will bring you a full leaderboard later today, which shows just five points covering the top 27 players.

Our leaderboard remains packed and it only takes a three-pointer (for predicting the precise score) to change everything. As with the football itself, all remains to play for. Click on the table to expand.

Don’t forget to get your predictions in for today’s matches below.

A wonderfully international leaderboard is taking shape as The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition starts to heat up, write our football correspondents* Constant Diver and Claire Fowell in Gelsenkirchen.

Following Sunday’s matches, I Wirantara from Indonesian airport authority Angkasa Pura I and Skyline Concessions CEO Manuel Soto IV are locked in a tie for first place with an impressive 13 points. Even more impressively, both have predicted the correct outcome in all seven matches played to date (and the precise score in three, an impressively above industry average 42.9% penetration rate).

But the big mover over the weekend was Julie Fenwick at Luggage-Point in the UK, who after a slow start swooped up the table with a hat-trick of precise score predictions on the Poland v The Netherlands, Slovenia v Denmark and Serbia v England matches. Julie sits on 12 points, alongside Campari Group Regional Manager GTR EMEA George Bliss, who picked up the maximum three points on the Poland v The Netherlands and Serbia v England matches.

Three more players – Avolta Global Supply Chain Master Data Office Head Dani Petkova; Ricola Vice President Region Middle East & Travel Retail Andreas Reckart; and Marchesi de Frescobaldi Global Travel Retail Director Philippe Jammeare just one point back on 11 points. In turn they are followed by ARI Global Business Development Manager James McLean and The Moodie Davitt Report Research Director Jess Allerton on 10.

Things can change fast though and with 11 players bunched on 9 points and 33 on 8, expect lots of changes on our leaderboard yet. There are three matches today (17 June) so don’t forget to get your predictions in.

There’s a six-way tie at the top of The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition leaderboard after the first four games in the UEFA European Football Championship (Euros) with five of the record 203 contestants just one point behind, write our football correspondents* Mark Closely and Mia Stryker in Dortmund.

Our super sextet are: Inside the Cask Founder (and Scotch whisky industry veteran) Andre de Almeida and I Wirantara from Indonesian airport authority Angkasa Pura I, who both predicted the Italy 2 – Albania 1 scoreline correctly; along with Skyline Concessions CEO Manuel Soto IV, Starboard Cruise Services Senior Regional Merchandise Manager – Europe Matteo Assalino, Ontario International Airport (the host of the upcoming FAB Conference & Awards) Chief Revenue Management Officer Elisa Grey, and Campari Group Regional Manager GTR EMEA George Bliss, who all nailed the Spain 3 – Croatia 0 result.

The whistle has blown and The Moodie Davitt Report Travel Retail Euro 2024 Tournament Predictor Competition is underway, write our football correspondents* Amos Wynmatch and Hedda Ball in Munich.

If you haven’t entered there is still time to not only participate but even to win, especially as not a single one of the 203 entrants picked the correct score in host Germany’s 5-1 (sledge)hammering of a not so bonny Scotland.

However, 176 of them did predict a German victory and no doubt the 87th minute own goal by Germany’s Antonio Rudiger (about the only way the Scots were going to score) ruined several otherwise perfect predictions.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie cracked a bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc today after perusing the early leaderboard (below), only to discover his front-running status was shared with 175 others.
