The lead singer of iconic rock band Jane’s Addiction got into a fight with guitar player Dave Navarro in the middle of a show in Boston on Friday night.

Front man Perry Farrell was barking into the mic before marching over to guitarist Dave Navarro and slugging him – sparking a brawl and stopping the show mid-song.

Fans at the concert say tensions appeared to have been brewing over the course of several songs with some eyewitnesses suggesting Farrell began shouting at Navarro during ‘Mountain Song’.

The tension only seemed to grow as the band played ‘Three Days’ before Farrell finally took aim and attacked Navarro at the end of ‘Ocean Days.’

It saw the evening’s entertainment come to an abrupt end.

Navarro appeared to be completely blindsided as crew members rushed on stage and grabbed Farrell in an attempt to pull him away.

Farrell was told to stop lunging towards Navarro and had to be restrained before he was dragged off stage by members of the crew and bassist Eric Avery, but he seemed particularly agitated.

The stage lights dimmed making it hard for those watching to see exactly what was taking place. The area was then bathed in a dark blue lighting while the band walk off.

Moments later, Navarro, Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins reconvened onstage and hugged one another, waving to the crowd and making peace signs. Loyal fans in the crowd went wild as they clapped and cheered.

The band have tour dates scheduled throughout the rest of this month in their first tour in 15 years running through until the middle of October but it is unclear if the tour will continue following the onstage bust up.

Fans posting to X on Friday night believe the band might have come to the end of the road once and for all.

‘For sure that this was last day of J Addiction,’ wrote one fan.

‘Well, looks like the band won’t be getting back together. That was wild. Kids, let this be a lesson…don’t do drugs and anger will eat you up inside,’ added another.

‘I was there. The crowd was bemused. Half p****d the show ended early and half excited we may have seen the last Janes A show ever,’ wrote a third.

The trouble appeared to start in New York City, where the band played two nights earlier this week at the Manhattan venue Pier 17, overlooking the East River.

Rumors circulated on social media earlier in the week that there were tensions between members of the group.

At one point Farrell even admitted to the the crowd at Pier 17 that his voice was not in great shape.

‘Ladies and gentlemen, I have to be honest with you. Something’s wrong with my voice. I just can’t get the notes out all of a sudden,’ he said.

Bassist Eric Avery acknowledged the poor New York performance in an Instagram post writing: ‘Looking forward to getting another crack at this spectacular rooftop venue tonight. I’m optimistic we will be better.’
