THIS is the moment a fire erupted at the Isle of Wight Festival – with firefighters rushing to tackle the blaze.
A huge plume of black smoke was seen filling the sky in footage from the festival this afternoon.
The fire has since been extinguished by on-site staff, confirmed cops and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
They confirmed that no local fire services were required to be in attendance.
Isle of Wight Police said in a statement that the blaze started when a golf buggy went up in flames.
Cops and festival organisers have now confirmed that no one was injured in the fire.
A statement from the Isle of Wight Festival read: “A fire broke out in an area of the festival.
“The fire was contained and quickly extinguished by the fire services and no one was injured.”
An Isle of Wight Police spokesperson said: “A short while ago a golf buggy used to travel around the festival site at #IOW2024 caught fire.
“No one was injured and the on-site fire service quickly extinguished it, with none of the festival site, staff or attendees affected.”
