MACAU, CHINA. Moët Hennessy Travel Retail has described its participation in DFS Group’s Masters of Wines and Spirits exhibition as demonstrating a deep commitment to providing best-in-class luxury experiences.
As described in our on location report from the gala event held at DFS Macau, City of Dreams, the 12th annual Masters of Wines and Spirits – themed ‘Ignite Your Senses’ – offers an extraordinary range of rare, luxury and often exclusive wines and spirits.
For the first time, Masters of Wines and Spirits has also been taken outside Asia, with complementary exhibitions at Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York JFK airports. The Macau edition runs until the end of June.
“Through its partnership with DFS, Moët Hennessy Travel Retail continues to set the benchmark for excellence in the world of fine wines and spirits, offering connoisseurs and collectors access to some of the most-coveted products worldwide,” the LVMH-owned drinks group commented.
Moët Hennessy’s participation includes a range of the various houses’ Cognacs, whiskies, wines and Champagnes.
The collection embraces the limited-edition Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame by Paola Paronetto; the rare cellar release, Dom Pérignon Plénitude 2 Rosé 2000; the new Hennessy Paradis 35cl Cognac; the limited-edition Scotch single malt whisky, Ardbeg Smoketrails Côte Rôtie Edition; and the travel retail-exclusive Glenmorangie Pommard Cask Finish 25-Year-Old.
Noteworthy whiskies showcased include the Glenmorangie Single Cask #28910 18-Year-Old, a DFS exclusive selected from one of the Maison’s finest barrels, and the Glenmorangie Pommard Cask Finish 25 Year Old, limited to 1,000 bottles globally.
Other highlights include the Glenmorangie Tale of Tokyo, inspired by Japanese culture and featuring Mizunara oak casks with packaging by contemporary Japanese artist Akira Yamaguchi; and the Glenmorangie Barrel Select Calvados Edition, aged in ex-Bourbon and Calvados casks.
A Glenmorangie pop-up at DFS Macau, Four Seasons, complemented the launch of this year’s event.
This installation featured an interpretation of Glenmorangie’s renowned pot stills (the height of giraffes) and showcased products such as Glenmorangie Signet and travel retail-exclusives, Accord 12 Year Old, Elementa 14 Year Old, and Tribute 16 Year Old.
Visitors could also indulge in a vaporiser experience to nose the aromas before tasting.
These aromas included coffee for Signet; orange and lemon for the travel retail range; and mint for Glenmorangie 19 Year Old.
Additionally, various gifts with purchases, such as whisky stones and Glenmorangie 14 Year Old 10cl bottles, as well as special pricing on select items, enhanced the overall experience.
Moët Hennessy also hosted an exclusive Ao Yun masterclass during the Masters of Wines and Spirits gala event, where guests sampled the Ao Yun Grand Cru along with its constituent Adong and Xidang wines, presented here separately.
These wines, produced in the foothills of the Himalayas, benefit from a combination of cool climate, high altitude, and mineral-rich soils.
The masterclass provided an in-depth exploration of Ao Yun, highlighting the Chinese house’s distinct characteristics and provenance. ✈
