Michelle Yeoh looked fierce while reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in a new teaser for the upcoming TV movie Star Trek: Section 31.
The 61-year-old Oscar-winning actress opened the official teaser that was released on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con by striking a pose as the Beyoncé song Formation provided the soundtrack.
A title card informed the audience that the preview contains ‘misfit content’ as determined by the Starfleet Command Media Division.
‘An emperor can only be loyal to duty,’ a girl said in a voice-over.
The clip then showed a young version of Philippa portrayed by Miku Martineau.

‘Thus does the empire remain strong,’ she continued while shown leaving apparently bloody footprints.
‘Thus does it grow,’ she added while being honored as emperor by bowing subjects.
Omari Hardwick, 50, was then shown in an unidentified role describing Philippa as a tyrant who murdered her own people by the millions.
‘The past always catches up with you,’ he warned.
Philippa was seen with members of Section 31, which is a Black Ops division that conduct’s Starfleet’s spy work.
‘Starfleet is here to make sure no one commits murder,’ future USS Enterprise-C captain Rachel Garrett [Kacey Rohl] told Philippa.
‘What a cute idea,’ Philippa said in the next scene.
Philippa was shown eating what looked like an eyeball and engaging in close combat.

Star Trek: Section 31 follows Philippa as she joins Section 31 to protect the United Federation of Planets while also facing the sins of her past.
Michelle reprises her role of Philippa from the Paramount+ series Discovery that starred Sonequa Martin-Green as protagonist Michael Burnham.
Discovery started with Philippa as the captain of the USS Shenzhou, but her character died in battle before returning in the Mirror Universe as the ruthless emperor of the Terran Empire.
Star Trek: Section 31 is directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi and written by Craig Sweeny for Paramount+ and will be the first TV film in the Star Trek franchise.
The TV movie is scheduled to be released in 2025.Â
