Michael Schumacher ‘only has one F1 driver allowed to visit him’ as inner circle details revealed

Must read

Michael Schumacher’s former Ferrari team-mate, Felipe Massa, is reportedly the only F1 driver allowed to visit the stricken star.

Schumacher is said to have attended his daughter’s wedding over the weekend, in what is being described as his first ‘public’ appearance since 2013.

It still seems unlikely he will ever be photographed in public again, however, with Schumacher continuing to live a life of secrecy.

The 55-year-old sustained life-changing injuries back in 2013 while skiing in the French Alps, with the Formula One legend tragically veering off course and hitting his head on a rock.

He has lived away from the spotlight ever since.

And, according to GP blog, Massa is the only F1 driver allowed to visit Schumacher as he continues his recovery at home.

The duo were previously team-mates at Ferrari, helping the giants dominate the sport during the early to mid 2000s.

The report says Italian test driver, Luca Badoer, is a ‘regular visitor’ of Schumacher. The pair remained close friends after Badoer departed, while ex-Ferrari chief Jean Todt is also in the small club.

“Schumacher was like that, always very reserved with his family.

“Even when he was still racing, his children only entered the racetrack when the race started, so as not to have the press on them.”

When quizzed further, he added: “I think if there was something [positive/ a solution], we would have known by now.”

As for Todt, the former Ferrari boss said last year that he doesn’t miss Schumacher because he’s still there.

He did concede, however, that the 55-year-old’s life was ‘different’ now.

“Michael is here, so I don’t miss him,” he said.

“[But he] is simply not the Michael he used to be. He is different and is wonderfully guided by his wife and children who protect him.

“His life is different now and I have the privilege of sharing moments with him. That’s all there is to say.
