MGM China and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM) have hosted an event in Macau’s Barra District to promote responsible gaming. This event is part of the “Contributing a Harmonious Community – RG Macau Express” series, aimed at both residents and tourists, running from May to December 2024.
The partnership with FAOM highlights a joint effort to extend these educational initiatives to popular tourist spots, ensuring that the message of responsible gaming reaches a wider audience.
Since gaming revenue has been one of Macau’s main revenue streams, MGM China’s initiatives aim to ensure the industry remains safe and sustainable. A sustainable industry will help boost Macau’s other main revenue stream that its Government has plans to further enhance – tourism.
The first event took place during May Golden Week at Rua dos Ervanários, while the second event in the series featured interactive Q&A games and bilingual promotional materials to engage tourists and raise awareness. Together, the two events have already engaged over 2,000 tourists, with participants receiving unique souvenirs that promoted Macau’s culture and responsible gaming.
Since last year, MGM and FAOM have collaborated on responsible gaming promotions, benefiting over 5,000 local residents. The 2024 series aims to reach an additional 8,000 tourists through its eight planned events, reinforcing the importance of responsible gaming across all segments of society.
Just recently, MGM China has hosted a delegation from Yangzhou at MGM Cotai to discuss collaborative opportunities that will enhance tourism development in Macau.
