Meghan Markle’s stunning ESPY Awards dress linked to her royal wedding day

Must read

Meghan Markle’s striking white dress turned heads at the ESPY Awards as the garment had a special link to her wedding day.

Prince Harry and Meghan attended the ceremony in Los Angeles on Thursday to collect the Duke’s Pat Tillman Award for service in honour of his work with the Invictus Games.

The Prince received mass criticism for accepting the award which some warned is “exceptionally bad publicity”.

The awards were set up in honour of Pat Tillman – a former NFL player who enlisted in the US Army following 9/11 and died in 2004 while serving in the military.

Despite the backlash, the royal couple posed for photographs before Harry took to the stage to receive his accolade.

Meghan remained seated as she smiled at Harry from the audience.

The Duchess’ dress appeared to be incredibly similar to her wedding reception attire from six years ago.

Meghan’s ESPY dress was an almost replica of her Stella McCartney reception gown.

Williams hosted the awards ceremony and made a savage joke urging the royal couple not to “overshadow” her and not to breathe “too much oxygen”.

During her introduction, the former world No.1 tennis player gave the couple a warm welcome before jokingly saying: “But please, Harry and Meghan, try not to breathe too much tonight.

“Because this is my night and I don’t want to be overshadowed by accusations you guys are taking up too much oxygen.”

Meghan and Harry appeared to take the joke well as the camera panned to the duo laughing.
