Meghan Markle has issued an update as the Duchess of Sussex’s dress sparked a fan frenzy.
The Duchess of Sussex’s team confirmed that Meghan, 42, wore a dress designed by Oscar de la Renta at the ESPY Awards on Thursday evening.
People Magazine, which has a strong relationship with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, originally reported the dress to be a custom Oscar de la Renta design.
However, representatives from the brand Staud appeared to claim the dress was their creation.
Sussex fans flooded to social media, conflicted by the mixed reporting.
One said: “I still think it’s the Staud dress perhaps customised for her because to me the design is the same.”
However, another Sussex fan added: “The Staud dress doesn’t have the same halter or train as Meghan’s dress.”
One confused social media user posted: “Another magazine said it’s custom Oscar de la Renta.
