Meghan Markle claimed she “hasn’t scraped the surface” of her experiences in the Royal Family during her latest interview with Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex filmed a sit-down interview with Jane Pauley for “CBS Sunday Morning”, which aired today.

Meghan, 43, and Harry, 39, spoke to Pauley about their work with parents who have lost their children to online bullying and abuse.

During the interview, Pauley cited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 2021 sit-down with Oprah Winfrey, where Meghan admitted she had contemplated committing suicide during her time as a working member of the Royal Family.

The interview also made headlines for Meghan and Harry detailing their experiences as working royals and rifts with other family members.

Pauley said to Meghan: “You had an experience that connects you to these families and I see you touch your husband’s hand in just the way I knew that you would be looking after each other.

“The connection that you have with people is they know you had suffered too, personally, contemplating killing yourself, is what suicidal ideation was.”

The mother-of-two appeared deeply uncomfortable with Pauley referencing the Winfrey interview from three years ago and its contents.

Pauley referenced Meghan’s discomfort: “I’m dancing around this because I can see you’re uncomfortable with me even going there.”

The 43-year-old replied: “I understand why you are though. I wasn’t expecting it, but I understand why you are.

“When you’ve been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey, certainly part of mine, is being able to be really open about it.

“I haven’t really scraped the surface on my experience, but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way and I would never want someone to be making those sort of plans and I would never want someone else to not be believed.”

Despite Meghan’s claims that she has “not really scraped the surface of her experiences”, the duke and duchess have been interviewed together and separately about their time as working royals multiple times.

They also starred in a self-titled Netflix docuseries, where they went into detail about their experiences with the King and Queen, and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

In January 2023, Prince Harry released a memoir titled Spare, where he wrote about his life story before Meghan, marrying the duchess, and stepping back as working royals.

The couple are also creating two separate series as part of their lucrative deal with the streaming giant Netflix, due to be released later this year.
