Martin Roberts has revealed the cheapest Homes Under The Hammer makeover that cost just £20.

The TV presenter, 61, revealed to MailOnline the cheapest ever turnaround which proved you can bag a bargain without demolishing your wallet and make a handsome profit fast.

He revealed that he once saw one man buy a two-bedroom flat in Ulster, near Belfast, on a beautiful estate during a time when Northern Island was having a ‘property crisis’.

Martin revealed that one lucky buyer, named Kieran, was able to make a huge profit on one of the homes after he spent just 20 minutes giving the home a makeover.

He told MailOnline: ‘Northern Ireland had a bit of a property crisis, like less than the UK did in 2007, 2008.

‘And it wasn’t too long after that. This guy bought a very relatively new flat and it was in a pretty great condition.

‘So we said, ”well, what are you going to do? I don’t think there’s much that needs to be done.

‘He said ”I think the only thing I need is a toilet seat.”

‘So I said, ”what’s your budget?” He said, ”well, I don’t know, £19.99”.

‘I’m like, OK, so how long is it gonna take?

‘He said, ”oh, I don’t know, about 25 minutes’. So we left him for a week.

‘We went back a week later. And sure enough, the one thing that he’d done was fit a new toilet seat.

‘So his budget was £19.99 and it did take him 20 minutes.’

Surrounded by beautiful hills and a quiet community, the guide price for the property was initially set at £62,000, but similar flats in the area were going for around £75,000 to £80,000.

Kieran managed to bag it for exactly £62,000, but revealed he didn’t intend to buy the property and had attended the auction for something else.

His visit was intended for a previous lot which he lost out on but after a friend recommended the next, the accountant opened the bid and won ’10 seconds later’ after no one else put in a bid.

Keiran, who is a father to two sons aged 20 and 22, confessed that he bid on the property in a bout of upset over his previous losses and was eager to sell it off as quickly as possibly.

He revealed he had a portfolio already and the property was not consistent with the rest and so was intending to sell it off to his friend.

Kerian explained that his initial budget for renovations was set at £500 but after viewing the property, he revealed he was only going to spend £20 for a ‘touch up’
