Martin Lewis £5 warning to parents shopping at Lidl and Aldi from Thursday

Martin Lewis has issued a £5 warning to parents who are visiting Aldi and Lidl stores from tomorrow. The BBC Sounds podcast host is circulating the news of the Aldi and Lidl Back to School uniform £5 bundle ahead of the rollout from July 4 (Thursday).

MSE warned: “From Thursday. The £5 full school uniform at Aldi. In stores only – go quick as these will sell out fast. Aldi school uniform.” MSE added: “From Thursday 4 July, Aldi is offering a full school uniform for ages 4-12 for £5, in stores only (find your nearest), while stocks last.




“This is part of Aldi’s ‘Specialbuys’ promotion where stock isn’t usually replenished, so go quickly if this is something you’re after as it’s been very popular in previous years. What’s included? Sweatshirt – £1.50, 2x polo shirts – £1.75, Girl’s pleated skirt – £1.75, Boy’s trousers – £1.75 and Boy’s cargo shorts – £1.75.

The deal consists of two polo shirts and a sweatshirt, and the choice of a pair of trousers, shorts or a skirt. Lidl is also stocking other school essentials including lunch boxes, notebooks and more. The back to school range goes on sale this Thursday (July 4) and you can see everything included below.

Aldi is also releasing its own school uniform bundle this Thursday, priced at £5 as well for a sweatshirt or cardigans, two polo shirts, plus skirts or shorts. The average cost of compulsory secondary school uniform and sportswear items for a child starting secondary school in England in 2023 was £96.24 per pupil, according to The Schoolwear Association.
