Marshall Puts Two New Compact Wireless Speakers On Stage

Must read

The world’s best-known brand of electric guitar amplifiers is also carving out a growing reputation for itself with a range of headphones, earbuds and speakers. The latest products to launch from the Anglo-Swedish group are two new Bluetooth speakers offering 360-degree sound in a compact package.

Marshall Emberton III is the third generation of Marshall’s cute little speaker that looks like a mini guitar amp. The Emberton III has an impressive 32 hours of battery life from a single charge and is housed in a dust and waterproof case that will make it the life and soul of any beach party.

Launching alongside the Emberton III is Marshall’s tiny Willen II Bluetooth speaker, a rugged and pocket-sized performer that can play for up to 17 hours on a single charge.

Hanna Wallner is Marshall’s product manager for Bluetooth speakers: “It’s been a pleasure to see this generational update come to life. We’ve created something unique in the portable speaker category. On the outside of the speaker, the focus has been on improved material choices and usability, but the biggest update is on the inside.

“Both products come ready for the next Bluetooth technology LE Audio, enabling Auracast. This new Bluetooth technology will soon be available as an over-the-air update in the Marshall Bluetooth app. One of the benefits that Auracast gives you is a “share audio” feature.

“With this new feature, you’re no longer dependent on a source device with Auracast. Instead, Emberton III and Willen II will act as source devices, allowing you to broadcast music to multiple Emberton III and Willen II units simultaneously. You simply have to connect your phone to one speaker via Bluetooth, and it will sync audio to the others.”

The speakers deliver a surprisingly big sound considering their compact size. The slightly larger Emberton III has True Stereophonic, a unique form of multi-directional sound developed by Marshall. True Stereophonic is stereo sound with a spatial and binaural sound that flows around the listener.

Although smaller in size, the Marshall Willen II makes a big impact. It’s slightly larger than its first-generation predecessor which produces a bigger bass and an improved overall acoustic performance. Newly developed drivers mean the Willen II has a wider frequency response and produces a more balanced sound.

Both Emberton III and Willen II speakers are rated IP67 for dust and water resistance. This rating means the speakers can be submerged in up to a meter of water, for up to half an hour and still work.

As part of their campaign to celebrate the launch of the new portable speakers, Marshall has partnered with three musical pioneers who embody the rock ’n’ roll mindset. Suki, Kelvin Krash and Bohan Phoenix bring a unique perspective. Together with Marshall, the trio of musicians share a day in their lives and their distinctive journeys into the music industry.
