A lot is going on behind the scenes at Manchester United this summer as Sir Jim Ratcliffe and ineos look to implement changes in their first off-season with the club.
After what was a disappointing season in the Premier League there is a review of the season going on. It means there is uncertainty over the future of Erik ten Hag, despite the Dutchman delivering his second trophy for the club in two years.
United finished the season on a high by beating rivals Manchester City 2-1 at Wembley Stadium to lift the FA Cup. That victory will also see them play in the Europa League in the new season.

As preparations for the 2024/25 campaign go on, there are a lot of stories doing the rounds. Here’s a look at some of the latest with our our perspective.
United make Arsenal move
Manchester United have strengthened their medical department with the appointment of Arsenal head physio Jordan Reece, according to Training Ground Guru. Reece has spent the last 12 years at Arsenal with the last four as head physio.
He is now said to have followed former boss Gary O’Driscoll who took up the role of head of sports medicine at Old Trafford last September. The appointment of Reece sees him rplace former head physio Robin Sadler who left United back in February.
MENSport says: The change in the medical staff at Old Trafford may be one of the many changes brought by Sir Jim Ratcliffe over the next few weeks and months. It comes after a season where the first team were blighted by injuries.
Those problems probably accelerated the change in the medical department with the team making moves to bring in new people.
Bayern ‘in talks’ for Fernandes
Portuguese outlet OJogo claim that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have made their move for United midfielder Bruno Fernandes ahead of the summer transfer window. The report says that the club have ‘started contact’ with the player’s agent Miguel Pinho.
It is also claimed that Barcelona have expressed a ‘deep interest’ in a possible move and ‘could soo open a negotiation route.’ Fernandes has two years remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford.
MENSport says: Fernandes has spoken about his future on a couple of occasions in the closing stages of the season. But the lure of Champions League football as well as competing at the top of the league will be a worry for United fans if Bayern or Barcelona’s interest does become more serious.
The midfielder has two years remaining on his contract meaning that United could still demand a big fee if it gets to that stage. In an ideal world whoever is in charge will be building their team around Fernandes to reach both the players’ and clubs’ aims of playing in the Champions League again.
