An increased number of Manchester United supporters are in favour of Erik ten Hag staying at the club ahead of next season.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News on Monday afternoon, United are considering retaining the Dutchman as manager after Saturday’s FA Cup triumph over Manchester City at Wembley. The Reds beat their neighbours 2-1, inspired by goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
It is understood that United have contacted representatives of potential replacements for Ten Hag and informed them they have not discounted the prospect of keeping the former Ajax chief. He has guided the club to two trophies in as many seasons.

Following the weekend’s victory over City, MEN Sport published a survey, inviting supporters to have their say on Ten Hag’s future. More than 10,000 people have submitted a response so far and an overwhelming percentage of those have participated are in favour of Ten Hag remaining in charge.
Of the 10,082 submissions recorded, 77.7 per cent are in favour of Ten Hag being given a third season in charge. His first two seasons at the helm have seen United reach three cup finals, winning two of them.
A total of 1,343 people who have participated in the survey have, however, said winning the FA Cup is still not enough for him to keep his job, insisting he should be dismissed. The remaining 905 votes that have been cast are in the category of still being undecided.
Naturally, there has been an increase in the number of United fans who are in favour of INEOS sticking with Ten Hag ahead of the 2024/25 campaign because of what happened at Wembley. That is highlighted when analysing the results from a poll MEN Sport also conducted after the 4-0 defeat at Crystal Palace at the beginning of May.
On that occasion, MEN Sport asked if United should sack Ten Hag immediately, allow him to finish the season and then be dismissed or keep him and back him in this summer’s transfer market. Of the near-14,000 submissions that were entered on that occasion, just 39.2 per cent of supporters wanted him to stay.
Since that 4-0 harrowing at Selhurst Park on May 6, United have recorded three wins from four matches, won the FA Cup and qualified for the Europa League. It is understood that INEOS are now conducting a review into United’s season before making a final decision on Ten Hag.
