Scotland’s first inland surf resort has announced more than 100 job vacancies, ahead of its opening in September.
The roles on offer at Lost Shore include therapists, food and beverage team members, maintenance and landscaping staff, marketing professionals, security personnel and visitor experience coordinators.
Additionally, the resort is recruiting for specialised positions in surfing operations, such as surfing instructors and lifeguards for its wave pool.
Early estimates suggest that the resort will contribute approximately £11m per annum to the local economy, with a total of 130 job opportunities and around 160,000 surfers and tourists visiting the site just outside Edinburgh.
Andy Roger, the new chief executive of Lost Shore Surf Resort, said: “As a Living Wage Employer, we are dedicated to providing high-quality employment opportunities in the Edinburgh area, thereby supporting the community and local economy.
“It’s an exciting time as we welcome new members to the Lost Shore team and tap into the diverse talent pool that Edinburgh and the wider region have to offer.”
Capable of generating up to 1,000 waves per hour, the new surf lake will be set within a 60-acre country park, alongside accommodation, a food market, shopping and a wellness studio.
