Strikes by London Trams workers have been called off after a dispute over pay was “resolved”, Transport for London (TfL) has said.
Maintenance workers, who are members of the Unite union, had been due to strike from 20:00 BST on Sunday until 8 July, and again from 11 to 15 July.
The action would have caused disruption to regular tram passengers as well as those travelling to the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
The Unite union has been asked to comment.
The Unite workers first took strike action in March saying they are paid up to £10,000 a year less than their colleagues on London Underground, despite requiring the same qualifications and performing the same roles.
Navid Golshan, TfL’s General manager for London Trams, said: “We are pleased that we have resolved this dispute with Unite and the union has withdrawn their industrial action by the London Trams engineers.”
He added that they hoped to run “as many services as possible” from Wednesday but this was “dependent on tram availability”.
Passengers have been urged to check before they travel and allow for extra time on journeys.
