Spain star Nico Williams has hinted he may stay at Athletic Bilbao this summer despite being linked with a move to the Premier League.
The talented winger, who has shone so far for Luis de la Fuente’s side at Euro 2024, is reportedly a target for a host of Premier League sides, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all linked with the 21-year-old.
Barcelona is also said to be keen on landing the winger. Williams, who inked a new deal with Athletic back in December 2023, is reportedly available for around $56m (£45m/ €48m) thanks to a release fee clause.
Speaking to Radio Nacional recently, Williams said: “I’ve already mentioned that Athletic is my home. I recently renewed my contract and I’m really happy.”
However, the winger also admitted he had found it difficult amid the speculation, adding: “It’s also tough to handle because everyone keeps asking about your future plans, and I’m just a 21-year-old who wants to play football.”
