When Jurgen Klopp announced back in January that he would step down as Liverpool manager, he confirmed that he would take a sabbatical before considering a return to the dugout.
Now officially a former Reds boss following the end of the season, the German is enjoying the early weeks of his break from the game. But that hasn’t stopped his agency from agreeing a new deal for him following his Liverpool departure.
His management team, Project MJK, has announced a partnership with global sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE, acting as their commercial and marketing representative for the next three years.
“We are very excited about this partnership,” Mike Jaggle, the managing director of MJK said following the announcement. “The industry leading experience and global infrastructure of SPORTFIVE will enable us to expand our footprint and to explore innovative opportunities outside of Germany.
“Jurgen Klopp is the embodiment of excellence, mentoring, emotional intelligence, leadership and long-term vision,” added Philipp Hasenbein, chief operating officer at SPORTFIVE. “His values align seamlessly with ours, and we are excited to collaborate with Project MJK to enhance Jurgen’s global reach.”
Meanwhile, Ron Wiegand, senior vice president global athlete & team marketing at SPORTFIVE said: “We are proud to have Project MJK and Jurgen Klopp on board with us.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to successfully develop Jurgen’s brand globally including social media management, media collaborations and new authentic commercial partnerships in the next years.”
