Liverpool transfer news live as Wirtz terms ‘agreed’ and Minteh stance

Must read

Liverpool fans will be hoping for plenty of transfer news as the summer window officially opens for Premier League teams on Friday.

A lot of players have been linked with moves to Liverpool. The Arne Slot era is now underway, and new sorting director Richard Hughes could also be in for a busy few months to put their stamp on the squad.

Yankuba Minteh is the latest name being linked after spending last season on loan at Feyenoord under Slot and speculation rising over his future at Newcastle. Florian Wirtz has been linked with a move in the past but reports suggest Real Madrid is close to a deal having ‘agreed’ terms in a blockbuster deal which could spark moves elsewhere.

There will also inevitably be moves in the other direction. Defender Kostas Tsimikas is the latest Reds star to be tipped to leave the club this summer.

Stay tuned to the Liverpool.com live blog as we bring you the latest transfer news from around Anfield.

Shock ‘swap’ deal for Rodrygo

Liverpool is plotting a shock swap deal for Rodrygo, according to reports in Spain.

Nacional claims the Reds are proposing a deal that would see Trent Alexander-Arnold move to the Bernabeu, with Rodrygo moving in the opposite direction.

The deal would be used in order to bring down the price of the Brazilian international, who has been linked with a move away following Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at the Bernabeu.

No Minteh interest

Liverpool has ‘no interest’ in signing Newcastle United forward Yankuba Minteh this summer, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

Minteh, 19, has been linked with a transfer move to the Reds after spending last season on loan at Feyenoord under new manager Arne Slot.

But while a forward could be on the agenda for new sporting director Richard Hughes and co, it’s claimed the Newcastle forward is not someone currently on the agenda.

Tsimikas linked with exit

Kostas Tsimikas could leave Liverpool this summer, according to Football Insider.

The Greek defender has not played regularly with Andy Robertson holding down the first-choice left-back spot. It’s claimed transfer chiefs at Liverpool have identified full-back as a potential area to target in the transfer window.

As a result, it is considering moving Tsimikas on. There is interest from other clubs, and FSG could therefore cash in.

Florian Wirtz latest

Florian Wirtz is a player who has long been linked with Europe’s very top clubs, including Liverpool, and his stunning season for Bayer Leverkusen has only increased the demand for his signature.

According to the Spanish newspaper MARCA, Real Madrid has stolen a march on other top sides in Europe and ‘agreed personal terms’ with Wirtz.

However, it’s claimed the proposal would not take place until the summer of 2025. He would also cost north of $100m but spend another year in Germany before heading to Spain.
