Liverpool have announced that third-choice goalkeeper Adrian has been offered a new contract at the club.
New Reds boss Arne Slot has already got to work in shaping his squad ahead of next season as the club’s released and retained list was published on Wednesday.
Both Joel Matip and Thiago had already confirmed their exits this summer but Adrian, who signed for the club in 2019, could be staying despite previously hinting at a departure.
The Spaniard has not made a Premier League appearance since the 2020/21 campaign but did feature in the Community Shield victory over Manchester City at the start of the 2022/23 season.
He has made just 26 appearances for the Reds in five seasons at Anfield, registering seven clean sheets.
Adrian is one of three players who have been offered a new contract along with academy goalkeepers Jacob Poytress and Reece Trueman.
Meanwhile, first-team players Adam Lewis, Melkamu Frauendorf, and Mateusz Musialowski will leave the club this summer.
At academy level, Nathan Giblin, Francis Gyimah, Luke Hewitson, Niall Osborne and Cody Pennington will depart.
Adrian has played a back-up role to Liverpool number one Alisson whilst Caoimhin Kelleher has established himself as the Brazilian’s understudy.
The experienced shot-stopper is out of contract at the end of June and has already spoken of his wish to return to Spain.
Adrian’s first taste of English football came in 2013 when he signed for West Ham from boyhood club Betis.
Despite a preference to return to his homeland, there has been no update as to whether Adrian will accept the Reds’ offer of a new deal.
