Liverpool make Summerville transfer ‘decision’ as Alisson ‘stance’ clear

Must read

Liverpool have reportedly decided against pursuing a move for Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville.

According to The Mirror, the Reds will not be among the clubs looking to sign the Dutchman despite the Whites’ failure to secure promotion back to the Premier League. Summerville has been repeatedly linked with a move to Merseyside in recent weeks, following an campaign for Daniel Farke’s side, who suffered playoff final heartache against Southampton at the weekend.

Chelsea are among the clubs reportedly interested in the 22-year-old but the outlet has now claimed that Liverpool will not be joining the race to sign the highly-rated winger. It was reported that following their place in the second tier being confirmed for at least another season, Leeds were set to demand a fee in the region of £30million for the winger.

Elsewhere, Liverpool will reportedly fend off interest in goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this month, the ECHO reported that the Reds were bracing themselves for fresh interest from the Middle East this summer. Last year, the region looked to bring some of Liverpool’s stars to the Saudi Pro League, including Mohamed Salah, and succeeded in ending Jordan Henderson and Fabinho’s time at Anfield.

Alisson, as well as the Egyptian, had emerged as players being earmarked over moves to the kingdom. However, Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Liverpool maintain that the 31-year-old is in the plans of Arne Slot’s side.
