Liverpool fans will say goodbye to Jurgen Klopp today as he manages the club for the final time.

The Reds take on Wolves at 4pm at Anfield in what promises to be an emotional afternoon.




On the pitch, the outcome of the game won’t have an impact on Liverpool’s position in the table, but off the pitch and at full-time emotions will run high as Klopp gets the chance to say goodbye to his adoring fans.

Throughout the day we will be around the city and outside Anfield speaking to fans about what Jurgen Klopp means to them and their favourite memories during the German’s reign.


It promises to be a special atmosphere and the perfect send-off for Jurgen Klopp after almost nine years at the club.


On the day, fans will also say goodbye to the departing Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara.

Members of Jurgen Klopp’s coaching staff will also say their goodbyes to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp has made two fans very happy after giving them a wave ahead of today’s game.

Alan Hayes, 40, and Alfie Hayes, 8, from Bootle, said: “We were just on a bike ride. We usually just come this way and back down to Bootle.

“I saw the fans here this morning and thought we’d have a wait to try and catch a glimpse.

“With him going as well to get one last glimpse of him before he leaves. I know they come here for most home games.

“We were ready to go we were doing one last ride up there and saw someone taking a picture and thought ‘no way there he is.’ Boss that. He gave us a little wave.”

It’s a day they didn’t want to happen and they’re probably thinking the same as all Liverpool fans.

They’ve seen the good times with Liverpool.

Ken has been a season ticket holder for about 30 years.

I’ve been lucky enough to witness some of the best moments during Jurgen Klopp’s reign that you could wish for as a football fan.

Andre Buhr has travelled over from near Frankfurt

Andre Buhr has travelled over from near Frankfurt in Germany to be in Liverpool for Klopp’s final game today. He is staying in a house by Anfield with his family. Andre said Klopp’s “whole aura and the way he gets along with players” is what makes him so special.

He said: “He’s not normal manager he’s more like a friend – and that makes this group of people so special. It gives power.”

Andre said he was hoping to see a match at Anfield for the first time next year to mark his 50th birthday “but then Jurgen told us he wanted to leave before then, and so I grabbed my chance and spent loads of money for a flight and ticket in February for hospitality.”

Fans are already waiting for the coach

The Liverpool players aren’t on their way yet but fans have already gathered at the entrance for when they do arrive at Anfield.

It will be the final time Jurgen Klopp does this journey as Liverpool manager.

It will be a lot busier in an hour or so.
