New reports have claimed Lily Allen only went on the celebrity dating app Raya to catch out her husband, David Harbour, who allegedly had a secret profile.
The Smile hitmaker, 39, married the Stranger Things star, 49, in 2020, and Lily shares daughters Ethel, 12, and Marnie, 11, with her ex-husband, Sam Cooper.
After quashing rumours that they had gone their separate ways earlier this year, Lily was spotted on the dating app Raya in December, with an insider now revealing that the musician was left in ‘agony’ after discovering her husband had been active on the app for a month prior.
They went on to claim Lily’s profile was set up to be ‘looking for women’ in order to find the women her husband may have been speaking to on the app.
‘Lily was looking for women that were on Raya and cross-referencing them with women David follows on Instagram to try to figure out who he was seeing. She was doing her Wagatha thing,’ a source told Mail On Sunday.
The title was a reference to the infamous Wagatha Christie trial between WAGs Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy, in which the former found the latter had been leaking stories about her to the media.
The source continued to tell the news outlet: ‘Lily only rejoined Raya to try to figure out whether he was seeing someone.
‘Lily has never even looked at anyone since she met David. She is devastated. He broke up with Lily a month ago. He was meant to be on holiday with her in Kenya over Christmas.’
Neither Lily or David have publicly announced their rumoured break up, however it appears they spent both Christmas and New Year’s apart and the actress alluded to a ‘solo’ festive season on her podcast recently.
According to the publication, David’s Raya profile says: ‘Visiting New York from Atlanta’ and says he is a ‘closet nerd that plays tough guys on your TV’.
David has been living in Atlanta for the past 12 months as he worked on the final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things in which he plays Policeman Jim Hopper.
A source told the news outlet that Lily has suspected that while he has been away filming, he has been ‘interested’ in meeting other women, but claimed she only discovered the information ‘at the end of the summer.’
Lily and David, whose marriage has reportedly been on the rocks in recent months, originally met on Raya.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2023, Lily spoke candidly about her first encounter with David, with his profile picture on the app being him in costume as Chief Jim Hopper – but Lily failed to recognise him.
‘I didn’t know who he was,’ she said. ‘I thought he was just, like, a sexy policeman from a reality TV show.’
After six months of dating, they went on to marry in 2020 during the pandemic, with an intimate wedding in Las Vegas, complete with an Elvis impersonator.
Metro has contacted Lily and David’s representatives for comment.
