Leny Yoro has reportedly turned down a move to Manchester United following an ambitious bid from the Red Devils.

United are determined to sign a centre-back this summer and have a number of options. Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich ’s Matthijs de Ligt are two names under consideration.

Man United have already seen two bids rejected by the Toffees, while they have agreed terms with the Dutchman. And it now appears that they have turned their attention to Yoro.

According to reports in France, the Red Devils have had a bid accepted by Lille for the young Frenchman. They have apparently offered €50m (£42m) – a package that is superior to Real Madrid’s opening bid.

While Lille are happy with the terms, it appears United have not done enough to convince Yoro of a move. According to Marca, the 18-year-old is instead holding out for a move to the Santiago Bernabeu instead.

Yoro is one of the most sought-after young players in world football. He made his debut for Lille at just 16 and has gone on to make 60 appearances for the side.

However, he has just a year left on his contract, meaning this summer’s transfer window is their final opportunity to scoop a considerable fee for his services. Former Lille boss Paulo Fonseca had backed him for a big move within 12 months.
