Lenovo Hints At New Legion Go Handheld, Featuring 7-Inch Display, HDMI Port & Dual-Fan Cooling

Must read

Lenovo may have hinted towards the release of a new Legion Go handheld, according to information that has surfaced on the company’s website.

Lenovo’s Next Legion Go Handheld Might Be A Compact One, Offering Smaller Display & Enhanced Cooling Performance

Lenovo’s Legion Go handheld device made a formidable entry into the market by capitalizing on the hype of AMD’s Ryzen Z1 APUs at that time, which made the device a decent alternative to mainstream options such as ASUS’s ROG Ally X. However, we didn’t get any development from the company surrounding the successor to the Legion Go, but Lenovo did state that they have plans to release new models, preferably “compact and lightweight designs’.

New information in the description of Lenovo’s Legion Go handheld shows that the company is working on a new device, likely a “trimmed-down” version of the original model. The description of the Legion Go at Lenovo’s official website describes the handheld to come in a “7-inch or 8-inch” display, while for now, the Legion Go itself comes with an 8.8-inch screen, suggesting that a smaller model might be in the works. Apart from this, the description also claims that the device has an HDMI port onboard, along with a dual fan cooling system as well, but such features aren’t available in the current model.

Since the device’s description has been recently updated, it might hint towards the fact that we can see a “smaller and more capable” model getting released into the markets. In terms of the specifications, we don’t have a clear idea for now, but judging by the fact that Lenovo plans to sell the upcoming handheld as a “configuration” of the original Legion Go, the onboard components might be similar, especially in terms of the processor.

Lenovo Is Keen On Expanding Its Legion Go Handheld Lineup With Next-Gen Offerings, Teases APAC Official 1

The handheld markets have seen a bit of a slump, mainly because they are waiting for the newer architectures to drop into the industry. We have already seen MSI integrating Intel’s Lunar Lake SoC in their “Claw” handheld, and we do anticipate manufacturers utilizing the new AMD’s Strix Point APUs as well, which will make the markets more competitive. For Lenovo, the company can come up with multiple products, but that isn’t certain for now.
